1st Battle of Panipat 1526
Greetings, glad to have you back here. As in my previous Blog, we have seen how the course of fighting of tarain happened and how it opened the doors for Muslim invasion in India.
- When Babar lost his parental state of Farghana and also failed to annex his ancestor's territory of Samarkand, he tried and captured Kabul and redirected his consciousness towards the conquest of Hindustan. He saw Hindustan as an alternative option to rule and spread.

- Also, the income of Babur from the province of Kabul was very low and limited so he was not in a position to meet even his administrative costs constructively. He was facing trouble in giving remittance to his agents and soldiers.
- At the same time, there were many provinces in Kabul, in which the expenses surpassed the income of that particular state. Therefore, Babur had greedy thoughts to take control or conquer the fertile and rich provinces of India like that of Punjab to meet his own expenses.
- He was attracted towards India for its huge wealth. He had great ambitions to acquire the immense wealth of india. He thought India as the best alternative for Kabul because he was also getting constant threats there from the Uzbeks.
- During that time the political condition of India was also not good. There was political instability and local quarrels among different Rajput rulers in India. Also from the initial stage, there was a lack of concept of central power governing India as a whole which proved to be the biggest loophole for the political condition of India during that time. Babur saw this situation as an opportunity and took advantage of it and attacked.
- Lastly, Babur was invited as well to invade India by Daulat Khan Lodi but it was not so trouble-free to invade and establish his rule in India with just 13000 to 15000 troops and some cannons.

The military strategy of Babur and Lodi.
- On the other hand, Ibrahim Lodi had approx 1 lakh troops, war elephants, cavalry, and infantry. But the tables have turned and Babur constructed a strategy that helped him to win the war against such a huge army.

Use of CANONS by Babur in 1st battle of Panipat for the very first time.
- His army was small in size but was extremely disciplined and had a lot more experience due to which they badly defeated the 1 lakh army of Lodi. this battle was fought only for 5 to 6 hours at the battlefield of Panipat in 1526.
- Babur also used gunpowder for the very first time in this battle which became his big strength. Ibrahim Lodi was astonished to see guns in battle and his army of 1 lakh had no clues and answers about them. Babur used tulughma and the araba technique for the very first time to fight against the Lodi army and lastly, they won decisively against Lodis.
- Thus sultan’s rule ended in India which resulted in the establishment of the Mughal dynasty in India.
So to summarize it can be said that Babur came from Afghanistan, crossed the Sindhu river and entered India, and started winning the Punjab region because he considered himself a descendant of Timur also who previously captured these areas and he also wanted to extend this legacy by capturing the areas associated with his descendants.
